Nasreddin Hodja and Other Stories
Entry FREE, 21 July 2017, 18.15, Museum Europäischer Kulturen, Berlin/Dahlem (location).
Through the art of storytelling, Serap Güven invites you to a journey through time and space, from south to north, from east to west, into the past and the present. The performance is organized in collaboration with the conference ‘Medieval Texts in Transit: Continuities and Shared Spaces’ at the Freie Universität Berlin.
Serap Güven has been a professional actress and storyteller since the early nineties. She was born in Turkey, grew up in Germany, and has lived in Brussels for the last 15 years. She speaks four languages and took a keen interest in epic tales and stories from a young age. This passion took her all the way to Kirghizistan as well as Mongolia in order to meet and be inspired by the storytellers of traditional epics.
Through the years, the international reputation of Serap Güven has grown. Today, she works regularly in different countries of Europe and Africa – Belgium, France, England, Germany, Austria, Spain, Denmark, Togo, Mali, Burkina Faso, … – using the four languages she speaks. www.serap-guven.com
